EXPERIENCE THE CHALLENGE OF WINTER FLY FISHING!![]()
Fly fishing during the winter months can be a productive and very rewarding experience.
CAN I FLY FISH FOR TROUT DURING THE WINTER?
Many of our smaller streams, rivers and lakes are closed during the winter "off season" allowing trout to run to spawn unmolested. However, some of the larger lakes and a few of the rivers remain open year round, allowing anglers the opportunity to experience the challenge of winter fly fishing.
INCLUDE A DAY OF FLY FISHING IN YOUR SKIING HOLIDAY!

Over recent years, there has been a noticeable increase of clients wanting guided fly fishing during the winter months, particularly skiers taking a day off from the local skifields.THE OPPORTUNITIES
Winter fly fishing opportunities that I can offer include:
- Drift fishing from a boat with streamers and small nymphs over aquatic weedbeds for brown trout and rainbow trout.
- Fishing rivers "across and down" with streamers for brownies and rainbows.
- Sight fishing to brown trout in channels and braids.
